Meet Chip,  Husky Owner and Bush Pilot

You may have seen Chip Ferguson in an AOPA magazine article earlier this year.  That’s Chip in the video below – showing us how his Husky loves short takeoffs and landings. We caught up with Chip in Texas last week.  He had just returned from Alaska, where he owns and operates the Alaska Rainbow Lodge,  a first class fishing lodge located in Bristol Bay. We are proud to say that he one first place at the Texas STOL Roundup in his Husky for the bush class and the obstacle bush class.

Chip purchased his Husky in 2006 and has logged more than 1500 hrs in it.  This includes about 5 roundtrip flights between Texas to Alaska.

At his fishing lodge in Alaska, they have a 700′ dirt strip.  It’s 6′ wide!

“I like the speed of the Husky.  It’s a great feeling airplane.  Great to fly.”
