EIS-41000 Ignition Kit – for the Husky Aircraft. The EIS-41000 Electronic Ignition Kit is a fully STC’d electronic ignition for most Lycoming 4cyl engines. Replacing one magneto with the EIS-41000 will typically improve fuel economy on average by 10-15% (many operators have reported consistent fuel savings of 1gph or greater). There is an improvement in horsepower, smoother engine operation, and improved high altitude performance. The EIS-41000 adjusts spark timing automatically by using a MAP Sensor – timing is adjusted with altitude. Most parts on the EIS-41000 are not life limited (the MTH is recommended to be changed at overhaul of the engine; spark plug wires on a regular interval) – this combined with reduced spark plug fouling means lower maintenance costs. This system is FAA-PMA’d approved for use on the Aviat Husky line of aircraft.
The EIS-61000-5M Ignition Kit – this kit is used on the 540 powered Pitts S2B & S2C Aircraft. The EIS-61000 Electronic Ignition Kit is a fully STC’d electronic ignition kit for Lycoming 540 series engines. Replacing one magneto with the EIS-61000 will typically improve fuel economy on average by 10-15% (operators have reported consistent fuel savings of 1.5-2.0 gph or greater). There is an improvement in horsepower, smoother engine operation, easier hot starts and improved high altitude performance. The EIS-61000 adjusts spark timing automatically by using a MAP Sensor – timing is adjusted with altitude. Most parts on the EIS-61000 are not life limited (reference the I.C.A. for recommended maintenance). This system is FAA-PMA’d approved for use on the Pitts S2B & S2C aircraft.
The EA-13000 Ignition Switch Panel – The EA-13000 is approved ignition switch panel to control both the Electroair electronic ignition system (EIS) and the magneto. This set of ignition switches is approved to replace the outdated and venerable rotary key-switch. By making this change, a couple of things get accomplished: first, the AD that accompanies most rotary key-switches is eliminated; second, the problem of faulty contacts inside of the key-switch which can cause a delay in the EIS from coming back on, is eliminated; and third, because the operation of the ignition systems (both the magneto and EIS) are returned back to the traditional way aircraft engines are supposed to be operated, pilot operation and aircraft safety are improved. Operation of the ignition switch panel is fully explained in the AFMS that accompanies the Switch Panel.
The EA-15000 Ignition Switch Panel is a rotary key-switch replacement for conventional, two magneto set-ups. The EA-15000 is an approved ignition switch panel to control two magnetos and a starter in a conventional ignition configuration (magneto – magneto). The panel comes in two versions, a horizontal one and a vertical one. This set of ignition switches is approved to replace the outdated and venerable rotary key-switch. By making this change, a couple of things get accomplished: first, the AD that accompanies most rotary key-switches is eliminated; second, the problem of faulty contacts inside of the key-switch which can cause a hot mag situation, is eliminated; and third, because the operation of the magnetos is returned back to the traditional way aircraft engines are supposed to be operated, pilot operation and aircraft safety are improved. Starting is now as simple as pushing a button. No more fumbling for the keys. Operation of the ignition switch panel is fully explained in the AFMS that accompanies the Switch Panel.
