HuskyLife.

Husky is your classic adventure that makes flying fun. In early aviation, most aircraft were light, rugged machines, able to land on short, rough airstrips or in any farmer’s pasture. Today, aviation is more civilized. Fortunately, there is still a descendant of that old-fashioned taildragger bush plane that can appeal to the rugged adventurer in all of us and put the world at our fingertips – Aviat’s Husky.

Having Fun. That’s what it’s all about.

Flying is as much about the flight itself as it is reaching your destination.

The Husky’s astoundingly short takeoff and landing capabilities (STOL) let you takeoff in as few as 200 feet and land in only 300 feet. These capabilities open a vast variety of accessible locations not available to pilots of lesser aircraft.

“Flying the Husky has changed the way I fly airplanes. Your head is outside the cockpit almost all the time and when you do look inside you’re only double checking what you already know. The airplane talks to you in such a way that the instruments are just secondary to what you feel. The Husky is also one of the most stable airplanes I’ve flown. Every pilot I take up marvels at the slow speed handling characteristics and when you have an airplane that is made for the back country, that is crucial.”

“I made the (Vines Airstrip) landing, stopping less than 500 feet from the threshold. I paced it out.

I shut down and sat in the plane for a few minutes, listening to the engine cool down and my heart rate decrease. The adrenaline rush from landing for the first time at an extremely challenging strip simply cannot be described. Better than chocolate!”
